  On 26 May 2021, a row at 6 Weavers Hall, Longford, led to a man who works as a local barber being assaulted by Michael O'Brien, and a second male who intervened was also assaulted. The three accused, O'Brien (26, Kenagh, Co Longford), Paul Owens (42, Longford), and Shauna Harper (28, Charlestown, Co Mayo), allegedly then went to Sannis Place, Great Water Street, where a robbery left a man in hospital. O'Brien and Owens were charged with aggravated burglary and a Section 3 assault, and all three appeared at Mullingar District Court two days later. In March 2022, Owens and Harper were sent for trial on robbery at Longford Circuit Criminal Court, with both remanded on continuing bail.

  Paul Owens, a 42-year-old man, was convicted of engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour at Longford District Court. On 2 July 2021, gardaí were called to his home in Longford shortly after midnight during a dispute, and as he prepared to leave he yelled at the officers. Owens pleaded guilty to the public order charge, and his solicitor's request for an adjournment was refused by Judge Seamus Hughes. He was fined €250 for breaching Section 6 of the Public Order Act, while a second charge of being drunk in a public place was struck out.
