    Charles Moore, 48, shot Detective Garda Paul McManus in the left forearm during a drug raid at his home on Barnwell Drive, Ballymun, Dublin, on 7 December 2017. Moore was charged with possession of a semi-automatic pistol, reckless discharge of a firearm, and assault of a garda, among other counts, and pleaded not guilty. He was convicted on all counts by a jury following a three-week trial in June 2021. In October 2021, Judge Martin Nolan sentenced Moore to nine years in prison for endangerment, taking the other charges into account.
