Paul Fitzpatrick, 44, of Garran an Caisleain, Kilcoursey, Clara, was arrested after banging on the windows of a house at 13 Cluain Fia, Clara, on 16 March 2025. On 17 March 2025 gardaí were called to the same house, where he was found shouting and holding a sharply pointed stick, and they used pepper spray on him. He was charged with threatening to smash the house's windows, possessing a sharply pointed article, public intoxication and trespass, and appeared at Tullamore District Court on 14 May 2025, when the case was adjourned for a Victim Impact Report. After he did not attend on 28 May, the case was put back to 4 June, and he was sentenced in the week before 10 June 2025 to 12 months' imprisonment, suspended for two years.
