Anthony Ferguson, 27, of Letterkenny, pleaded guilty at Donegal District Court on 28 February 2022 to making a false witness statement at Ballyshannon Garda Station on 24 January 2021, in which he used his brother Paul Ferguson's name and forged his signature. He had been brought to the station to give a statement in relation to an assault and dangerous driving by another person, of which he had been a passenger. He was on bail for other charges at the time and believed his own involvement would affect his bail status. Judge Sandra Murphy adjourned the matter until 28 March for a Probation Report.
