Eoin Boylan, a 22-year-old man, was shot at his family home on Clonshaugh Avenue, Dublin, on 24 November 2019 at 4.49pm. Paul Clarke, a 43-year-old man, was arrested in August 2023 and originally charged with murder in March 2025. Clarke pleaded guilty to participation in the activity of a criminal organisation in June 2025. At a sentencing hearing at the Central Criminal Court on 6 October 2026, Mr Justice Paul McDermott remanded Clarke in custody until Friday for sentencing.

On 13 November 2019 a man named Paul Clarke took about €1,000 from two open tills at a Lidl in Dublin, threatening the shop manager with a handgun that he fired into the ceiling. Gardaí stopped the getaway car in Darndale with Clarke and the getaway driver, and gunshot residue was later found on his jacket and the car. Clarke pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six years' imprisonment by Judge Orla Crowe at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, as reported on 20 October 2023.

Paul Clarke, a 40-year-old man from Muff, Kingscourt, Cavan, was convicted by a jury of raping a 22-year-old woman while she slept at a friend's house in County Meath on 11 February 2007. The woman reported the incident to gardaí in 2017 after years of trying to suppress what had happened. Clarke was convicted at the Central Criminal Court in October 2022, the second trial after the first jury was unable to agree on a verdict. In February 2023, he was sentenced to six years' imprisonment, reduced from a headline of seven and a half years, with 18 months' post-release supervision and the sentence backdated to December 2022.
