  Paul Buccafurri, a 32-year-old man, was convicted of indecent exposure at Brosna Court in Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, on 21 April 2024. He was also convicted of stealing cigarettes worth €15 from a Centra on the Tullamore Road in Kilbeggan on 2 March 2024. At Portlaoise District Court, counsel said he has had mental health issues since age 20, and the judge noted previous convictions, including two or three for indecency. The court jailed him for six months, backdated to 24 April 2024, and ordered him to stay on his medication, as reported on 30 July 2024.

  On 30 December 2022 a prison officer was assaulted at the Midlands Prison in Portlaoise, Co Laois. Paul Buccafurri, 32, whose address is listed as the Midlands Prison, is the accused, and he pleaded guilty to a Section 2 assault on a prison officer that occurred while he was serving a sentence. In January 2024 his solicitor, Philip Meagher, told the court his client had significant psychological issues and had previously requested a report. Judge Nicola Andrews asked for a victim impact statement, and the matter was adjourned back to Portlaoise District Court to April 8, with no sentence reported yet.
