Patrick Walsh, 40, formerly of Roscrea, Tipperary, entered the home of his former partner Orla O'Connor through an open window at around 4am on 4 June 2018 and punched her partner Wayne Nicholson in the face a number of times, with Nicholson also being bitten on the face during a struggle. Walsh was arrested at his parents' home in Roscrea and remanded in custody for a week. He was sentenced at Nenagh Circuit Court in May 2022 to 18 months in total, with the final 12 months suspended on a €200 bond with good behaviour and no-contact conditions. A protection order was in place at the time of the incident.

Terrance Bracken, 39, of Ballicknahee, Clara, was charged with assaulting Patrick Walsh at Ard Scoil Chiarain, Clara, on 30 September 2021. Bracken drove a van to the school, parked beside Walsh's car, and punched him once through an open car window in what was described as an unprovoked assault. Bracken pleaded guilty at Tullamore District Court in November 2021, where Judge Catherine Staines ordered a victim impact report and a probation report. Sentencing was adjourned to 9 February 2022 for payment of compensation. Bracken has three previous convictions, including assault causing harm in 2015.
