  Patrick Sibanyoni, a 58-year-old man with an address at Dundanion Lodge, Blackrock, Cork, faces 24 charges of criminal damage to property and cars in Mallow in May 2025, which he allegedly committed while stripped naked. He has been on remand at Cork Prison for about eight months, and a psychiatric assessment found he has a psychotic illness, most likely schizophrenia. At a hearing on a Monday, reported on 17 February 2026, Cork Circuit Criminal Court was told the Central Mental Hospital had no free beds, and Judge Helen Boyle remanded him in custody until Tuesday while the hospital checks for a place at Cork University Hospital.
