A badly decomposed body was found in a van at Camac Valley Caravan and Camping Park in Clondalkin, Dublin, on 27 July 2022 after residents complained of a strong smell. The remains were identified as those of Patrick Porter, a 45-year-old man from Grange, Inch Island, County Donegal, who had checked into the campsite under his own name at the start of July. A post mortem was carried out on the body. Porter had convictions for lewd behaviour and other sex offences dating back to 2011 in both the Republic and Northern Ireland. A file is being prepared for the Coroners Court.
