    On the afternoon of 6 August 2019, Patrick O'Toole, a 53-year-old man, sexually assaulted a 35-year-old woman on a Bus Éireann service between Moycullen and Maum Cross in Galway, offering her vodka, grabbing her thigh, placing his hand on her breast, and licking her face. The woman reported the incident to Gardaí on 8 August 2019, and CCTV footage confirmed O'Toole as the man on the bus. He pleaded guilty to five charges of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, and assault. On 15 March 2023, Judge Brian O'Callaghan at Galway Circuit Court sentenced him to three and a half years in prison, with the final 18 months suspended.
