    Patrick O'Shea sustained injuries to his left eye, nostrils and testicles after an assault at Celtic Apartments, Pearse Road, Letterkenny, on June 23, 2020. He had been drinking and went to the apartments looking to buy drugs. John Tierney, 35, Danny Tierney, 41, and Brian Cairney, 50, were charged with assault causing harm. In January 2025, all three were sentenced at Donegal Circuit Court, with John Tierney receiving a fully suspended two-year-eight-month term, Danny Tierney a two-year-four-month sentence with part suspended, and Cairney a fully suspended 20-month term.
