Patrick Murphy, a 70-year-old man from Banard, Abbeyfeale, was convicted of driving without reasonable consideration after his car crossed the centre line and struck an articulated lorry on the N21 at Ballycannon, Croagh on 2 April 2019. He pleaded guilty at Kilmallock Court, where defence counsel noted video footage showed the car was decelerating and that a health issue had since been identified. The judge recorded a conviction without imposing a fine and applied penalty points to his licence.
