Patrick McNamee, aged 26 or 28 (reports differ), of Burwood, Buncrana, Donegal, was charged after cannabis, cocaine and MDMA were allegedly found at his home, with the alleged offence dated March 25, 2021. Gardaí traced him through an envelope found in a wheelie bin that had been posted in Buncrana, and CCTV from Buncrana Post Office captured him before his arrest. In February 2024 he was sent forward for trial to Letterkenny Circuit Court, and on June 18, 2024 he pleaded guilty before Judge John Aylmer to three counts of possession for sale or supply. The latest development, reported in November 2024, is that he was given a suspended sentence, with destruction of the drugs and forfeiture of 5,630 euro in cash ordered.
