  On 7 October 2020, Andrea Booth, a 48-year-old woman, discharged a shotgun at her partner Patrick Healy at their log cabin home outside Nurney, Co Kildare, after discovering he was having an affair. Healy was hit by two shotgun pellets in the arm and treated in hospital before disarming Booth. She was charged with recklessly discharging a firearm and criminal damage, appeared at Naas District Court in May 2022, and the case was sent forward for trial in July 2022. In June 2023, Booth pleaded guilty at Naas Circuit Criminal Court and received a two-year prison sentence fully suspended on condition she be bound to the peace.

  On 18 October 2022, mattresses and waste bins were set alight at Táin Court apartment complex on Bridge Street, Dundalk, causing up to €140,000 in damage. Patrick Healy, a 51-year-old man with an address at the Simon Community, Barrack Street, Dundalk, was charged with causing criminal damage to a large waste bin valued at €500. He first appeared at Dundalk District Court on 28 October 2022, where Judge Eirinn McKiernan remanded him on his own bond of €200 to 18 January with conditions including residence at Mellowes Crescent, Finglas, and exclusion from the apartment complex. At a further hearing on 27 January 2023, he was remanded on bail to 3 May for the directions of the DPP.
