On 9 December 2023, a man stole a Guess handbag, a leather purse and €50 in cash from Fitzpatrick's pub at Rockmarshall, north County Louth. The defendant, Patrick Harty, a 52-year-old man of Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare, was identified from CCTV footage. He pleaded guilty to theft, and the court heard the case on Wednesday 22 July. He was sentenced to three months at Dundalk District Court, as reported on 4 August 2026.

Patrick Harty, 51, of Sixmilebridge, Clare, entered Devine Park GAA grounds in Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, on the evening of 9 August 2023 during a hurling match and took a black VW Golf and personal items from players' training bags. He drove the car to Longford town, where CCTV showed him using a stolen Revolut card in shops and a bar, and the following day he took a vehicle from an elderly man on Main Street, Ballymahon, after offering to help him park. He was charged with nine offences and pleaded guilty at Longford District Court. In August 2024, the judge sentenced him to one year in prison, with six months for the car theft and three two-month sentences for the other thefts to run consecutively.
