  Garda Patrick Curran, 35, is charged with assault causing harm to Garda John Burke at the Garda College in Templemore, Co Tipperary, in the early hours of 25 March 2022, the night before the Royal visit to Cashel. Burke claims Curran punched him in the head and face, and that he felt a thumb in his eye and a knee in his back. The case was heard before Judge Elizabeth McGrath at Thurles District Court, with the first hearing in November 2023 and a second hearing in March 2024. Curran denied any knowledge of the incident, saying he was in bed for the night. The case was adjourned to 20 December.
