On 2 February 2021, Paddy Rodgers damaged a car and a green Renault van by fire at Park Road, Longford, and placed a firelighter on the inside windowsill of a house on the same street while residents were inside. He pleaded guilty to the arson and attempted arson charges. The case was adjourned to the next sittings of Longford Circuit Court, where he is to be sentenced by Judge Keenan Johnson. A bail application is expected to be submitted by his defence team.

Paddy Rodgers, a 19-year-old man, is alleged to have assaulted a man in his late 50s while the victim was walking his dog at The Demesne, Longford, on 25 July 2021. He is also charged with arson and criminal damage from a separate incident on Park Road, Longford, in February 2021. Rodgers was remanded in custody in August 2021 for a psychiatric assessment, was deemed fit to be tried, and the arson and criminal damage charges were sent to Circuit Court. On 9 November 2021, Judge Marie Keane at Longford District Court convicted Rodgers of the assault and sentenced him to six months in prison, backdated to when he went into custody.

Nineteen-year-old Paddy Rodgers was charged with public order offences and shoplifting in Longford. On 15 July 2021 he was arrested on Dublin Street holding an unopened bottle of cider after being spotted armed with a metal stick in the Great Water Street area and reported as acting threateningly and intoxicated, and he was also charged with removing a Nike runner, t-shirt and tracksuit worth €191 from Sports Direct, Ballymahon Street, two months earlier. At Longford District Court on 28 September 2021, Judge Bernadette Owens declined to convict him of either offence, issuing a Section 1(2) Probation Act order. He remains on remand in Cloverhill Prison on other charges, including an alleged assault on 25 July 2021 that left a man in his late 50s in hospital.
