On 28 July 2025, gardaí were called to a disturbance on Lower Main Street in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, and arrived at 2.15am. A taxi driver told them a drunken passenger, Oliver Shovlin, 49, of Rathmullan, had refused to leave his vehicle, and Shovlin faced four public order charges. He appeared at Letterkenny District Court, where Judge Ciaran Liddy jailed him for three months but suspended the sentence. The sentence was reported on 7 January 2026.
