• Inquest into Dublin murder-suicide of boy and father adjourned Murder · Co. Dublin

Wayne O'Reilly, 48, is suspected of killing his son Oisín Reddin, 12, by asphyxiation before taking his own life by hanging. Their bodies were found on 8 January 2026 at separate properties in Clondalkin and Ballyfermot, west Dublin. The pair had been reported missing in October 2025, when armed gardaí rescued Oisín from a Limerick hotel room after his father threatened to kill him. An inquest into Oisín's death opened at Dublin District Coroner's Court on 30 March 2026 and was adjourned to 29 September 2026 to allow the Garda investigation to continue.
