Noel Gleeson, a 37-year-old man from Walkinstown, Dublin, pleaded guilty to possession for sale or supply of cannabis after a sports bag containing drugs with a street value of over €13,000 was found in a car parked outside his home on 4 August 2020. He told gardaí he had been threatened over a drug debt and told to travel to the UK to collect the drugs, and receipts for a Stena Line ferry journey were found in the car. He has three previous convictions for drug dealing, making this his fourth. On 8 April 2022, Judge Orla Crowe at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court sentenced him to three years with the final 12 months suspended for two years on conditions including co-operation with a drug rehabilitation service.
