    Noah Comer, a 19-year-old man of Ballybride, Roscommon, was stopped and searched by gardaí on patrol in the New Street area of Longford town at about 10pm on Sunday 21 January 2024 and found to have cannabis worth €20. He was charged with a single count of possession of cannabis and pleaded guilty before Judge Bernadette Owens at Longford District Court. The Longford Leader reported on 3 January 2025 that he was fined €200 and given four months to pay.
