• Coroner returns misadventure verdict in Limerick fatal dog attack Dog attack (fatal) · Co. Limerick

Nicole Morey, a 23-year-old woman, was killed by her dogs, including an XL Bully, at her rented home in Fedamore, Co Limerick, on the night of 4 June 2024, her 23rd birthday. Armed gardaí shot the XL Bully four times to subdue and kill it, and the other three dogs were seized and later destroyed. Gardaí from Roxboro Road investigated and did not suspect foul play, and the DPP ruled no criminal prosecution would follow. In October 2026, Coroner John McNamara at Limerick Coroner's Court in Kilmallock returned a verdict of misadventure, stating the death was not an accident but the unintended outcome of an intentional act.
