Nicole Chambers (29), of Coolaney, Co Sligo, alleged in August 2020 that a male prison officer escorting her on a hospital visit had sexually assaulted her in a hospital cubicle. CCTV, a female colleague and medical staff showed the officer had stayed outside the cubicle, and Chambers pleaded guilty to making a false criminal complaint on 15 August 2020. She told gardaí in November 2020 that she wished to retract her statement. On 10 December 2025 Judge Nolan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court jailed her for 21 months, after a bench warrant issued when she failed to appear was executed on the day of sentencing.
