    Laura Tuohy, 38, arrived intoxicated at Mountmellick Garda Station on 1 September 2021 and, after being directed to leave by Garda Newport, told him she was going to assault him and kicked him in the crotch. She was arrested and charged with assault, intoxication, and engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour. At Portlaoise District Court she pleaded guilty and was dealt with under the Probation Act, section 1(2), with €500 directed from the Court Poor Box to the injured garda.
