    Neil O'Boyle, a 28-year-old man, was arrested for dangerous driving after his blue Audi met a Garda patrol car head on at the N4 at Aughadeignan, Longford, on 8 October 2024, with officers estimating a speed of around 180kph in a 100 zone; he was also found to have no insurance. He pleaded guilty at Longford District Court to giving a false name to a Garda, driving without insurance and dangerous driving at Moneylagan, Longford, and was remanded on continuing bail to 18 March 2025 while a probation report was directed. Two Roscommon charges are to be heard before Roscommon District Court on 22 January 2025. The case was adjourned to 17 June for finalisation, though one report says he was directed to complete 150 hours of community service and disqualified for four years.
