  Gardaí seized drugs with a total value of €626,000 at a house on Esker Hills Golf Course in Tullamore and a storage container in Birr, Offaly, on 14 and 15 April 2026. Darren Somers, 45, a man, and Monika Swiatkowska, 46, a woman, both of 18 Esker Hills Golf Course, were charged with possessing cocaine, cannabis, MDMA and diamorphine for sale or supply. Both were remanded in custody at Tullamore District Court in June 2026 after the DPP directed trial by indictment, with Somers's bail application refused. At a September 2026 hearing, both were sent to Tullamore Circuit Court for trial on 17 November 2026.
