Revenue officers seized 25.8 kg of herbal cannabis worth an estimated €515,000 from two suitcases in the baggage of a passenger at Terminal 2, Dublin Airport, on a Friday in May 2026. Mohammed Islam, a 26-year-old English computer science student, was arrested by An Garda Síochána after disembarking a flight from Toronto, Canada, and was charged with unlawful possession and importation of cannabis and possessing it for sale or supply. At Dublin District Court, Judge Treasa Kelly set bail at €35,000 and remanded him in custody, noting that additional charges would be sought. He was due to appear at Cloverhill District Court for directions from the DPP.
