  Mohammad Ali, a 33-year-old Somali man, urinated inside Store Street Garda Station in Dublin after midnight on 3 January 2025, and members of the public had to leave the area. He faced charges of a public order offence linked to intoxication and possession of a knife under the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act. He changed his plea to guilty, and Judge Michele Finan imposed a nine-month prison sentence, consecutive to his current sentence, suspended for two years on a €200 bond with conditions of good behaviour and no further knife-related convictions. The sentencing was reported on 30 July 2025.

  On 15 August 2021, garda Dylan O'Loughlin drunkenly assaulted and racially abused Kuwaiti taxi driver Mohammad Ali during a fare dispute in Clonee, Dublin. O'Loughlin was arrested, pleaded guilty in the District Court to public drunkenness, threatening and abusive behaviour, assault, and interfering with a car mechanism, and was suspended from the force. The criminal matter was struck out with no conviction on condition he paid €5,000 to charity. Mr Ali is now suing O'Loughlin and An Garda Síochána in the High Court over the incident.
