Mirandas Marcinkevicius, a 21-year-old man of Longford, was stopped by gardaí driving a BMW on Richmond Street in Longford town on 22 December 2022. A roadside oral fluid test was positive for cocaine and cannabis, a later blood sample showed he was over the legal cannabis limit for driving, and gardaí confirmed his driver's licence was not genuine. He pleaded guilty at Longford District Court to driving without insurance, driving without a licence, possessing a false instrument and driving with excess cannabis, and in July 2023 he was fined €300 and disqualified for one year for drug driving and fined a further €300 and disqualified for four years for driving without insurance.
