    Mike and Margaret Thomas of Rathkeale, Limerick, face charges of failing to send their child to school, a case dating back to August 2018. The matter has been before Newcastle West District Court seven times, and Ms Thomas previously gave a solemn undertaking that her child would attend school. The couple failed to appear at the most recent hearing, following a previous absence on 5 July. Judge Carol Anne Coolican issued arrest warrants for both defendants after a person from the UK claimed the child was being educated there but provided no proof.
