    Mihaly Banko, a 50-year-old metal fabricator from Glenwood, Dundalk, was seen on CCTV placing a box of beer over a purse left in the packing area of the Lidl store on Avenue Road, Dundalk, on 23 October 2020. He was linked to the theft after using an AIB card to pay for his own goods. Banko admitted the offence at Dundalk district court in October 2021. Judge Eirinn McKierna imposed a two-month sentence suspended on a bond to be of good behaviour for 12 months.
