Cathal Connors, 26, and Michelle Connors, 21, were convicted of throwing up to 32 eggs at their aunt, Mary Fahy, as she drove past their home in Fannaun, Peterswell, Clare, at around 6.30pm on 17 October 2019. They were charged with assault and criminal damage to her car and denied the charges. Judge Mary Larkin found them guilty on all counts at Gort District Court in January 2022. Sentencing was adjourned, and in January 2023 each was fined €500. The judge noted the accused showed no remorse and that the incident was linked to a family land dispute.
