• Three men to face Special Criminal Court on organised crime charges Drug possession · Co. Laois

  On 16 February 2026, gardaí raided a storage facility in Townspark, Mountmellick, Co Laois, uncovering an operation involving modified car compartments to facilitate drug dealing. Blazej Ozanski, a 31-year-old man from Mountmellick, was charged with possession of cannabis for sale or supply and with participating in a criminal organisation by fitting concealed compartments in motor vehicles. Rafal Klubikowski, a 42-year-old man from Portlaoise, was charged with directing a criminal organisation, and Michael Simpson, a 37-year-old man from Dublin, was charged with participating in arson and aggravated burglary with knowledge of a criminal organisation. Peter Brazil, a 47-year-old man from Lucan, Dublin, was charged with a single count of burglary. On 2 November 2026, the Special Criminal Court agreed to try the three men on organised crime charges, with their first appearance set for 9 November 2026.

  Two men were found in a car with a Glock semi-automatic pistol and ammunition on Rowlagh Avenue, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on 17 December 2024. Declan Coulahan, 45, of Tallaght, and Michael Simpson, 35, of Clondalkin, were arrested as part of a GNDOCB operation that also searched 18 other locations. Both men were charged with possession of the firearm and ammunition and appeared at Blanchardstown District Court on 20 December. They were remanded in custody, with Coulahan due before the Central Criminal Court on 23 December.
