On December 1, 2025, a woman's car was broken into at the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick, and her AIB debit card was taken. She was alerted by a phone notification of a transaction on the card. Gardaí searched and found the card in the possession of Michael Parker, 38, of Thomondgate. Parker pleaded guilty at Limerick District Court to using the card at Henry Street's 24/7 Shop, and he was sentenced to four weeks' imprisonment, as reported on 5 February 2026. The prosecution said he has 39 previous convictions.
