Michael Green, a 73-year-old man, was reported missing from his home in Cork city on 19 September 2025. Gardaí issued an urgent appeal for information on his whereabouts, describing him as 5 feet 9 inches, medium build, with grey hair and blue eyes. It was not known what he was wearing when last seen. Michael Green was subsequently found safe and well, and Gardaí thanked the public for their assistance.

Timmy Casey, 38, was accused of demanding protection money with menaces from Michael Green, a construction site foreman, at the partly-built Parkway Valley shopping centre demolition site on Dublin Road, Limerick, on November 12, 2019. The alleged demand was made alongside Casey's now deceased brother Terry Casey to avoid damage to machinery or theft at the site. Casey pleaded not guilty at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court on April 8, 2024, but the jury was discharged before the trial properly began and the case was adjourned. He was retried in 2025 and acquitted by a 10-2 majority.
