latest first- Gardaí seek court order to destroy XL Bully 'Ghost' running loose in Clare Dangerous dog (application for destruction or seizure) · Co. Clare
An XL bully dog named Ghost was reported running freely on public roads near Lisdoonvarna in north Clare during May and up to 19 June 2024, and it allegedly bit members of the public on two occasions. On 27 June 2024 at Ennis District Court, Sgt Noelle Bergin sought an order for the dog's destruction or, alternatively, its seizure, after serving the application on the owner, Michael Geraghty of Ballinalackin, Lisdoonvarna, the previous Saturday. Mr Geraghty did not appear, and Clare County Dog Warden Frankie Coote said he was not complying with the warden's directions. Judge Alec Gabbett noted a service issue and said a similar application could be made at a future sitting, so no order has been made.
