latest first- Man sentenced for stealing Go Cars in Kildare, Dublin and Wicklow Theft (unauthorised taking of vehicles) · Co. Kildare
Michael Deegan, a 37-year-old man from Tallaght, Dublin, was the driver in a series of thefts of Go Car rental vehicles across Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow in October 2021, in which another man broke into parked cars with keys inside and drove them away. The court heard Deegan was made to pay off a drug debt with a criminal organisation by driving third parties to the locations. Gardaí traced him after linking the registrations of the cars he was driving to him and his wife. He pleaded guilty to four counts of taking Go Car vehicles without consent and was sentenced to 18 months in prison by Judge Martin Nolan in March 2023.
