Officers from the District Drugs Unit executed a warrant at the home of Michael Boyce, a 56-year-old man, in Rosemount, Kilmacrennan, Donegal, where they found cannabis herb hidden in a lawnmower and a quantity of cash. Boyce was present when Gardaí arrived, admitted the cannabis was in a bag and handed it over, and later admitted sharing it with people he knows and ownership of the drugs, which were valued at €954. The case was heard at Letterkenny District Court before Judge Raymond Finnegan, where Boyce was convicted on two charges of possession of cannabis. He was fined €250 on each charge and given six months to pay.
