On June 7, 2021, the injured party posted a wanted advert on Done Deal for a grass box for a lawn mower and transferred €60 to a person claiming to be Melissa Crawford of Ballinasloe, Galway, but the item was never received. After the injured party complained to gardaí, Crawford made admissions in interview and later pleaded guilty to money laundering at Kilkenny District Court. The court convicted her and fined her €101, and the judge said she was sure a lesson had been learned, as reported on March 21, 2024. The defence said her cousin used her betting account without her knowledge.
