  Oliver Carroll, a 59-year-old man from Knock, Roscrea, was sentenced at Nenagh Circuit Criminal Court in February 2024 to two years' imprisonment for two counts of assault causing harm. The assaults took place on July 24, 2022, at Timony, Knock, Roscrea, after a dispute over songs played in the Knock Inn pub. Carroll waited outside the home of Keith Noonan and Megan Monahan in a white van for around 90 minutes before forcing his way in and assaulting both victims. Mr Noonan sustained cuts, bruising and a shoulder injury, while Ms Monahan had a fractured finger. The judge suspended the final 18 months of the sentence on condition of a two-year peace bond.
