  • Limerick woman convicted over illegal waste dumping in back garden, bench warrant issued Illegal waste dumping (Waste Management Act 1996) · Co. Limerick

Megan Browne, a woman from Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, was convicted under the Waste Management Act 1996 over a large amount of waste stored in the back garden of her rented house. Her letting agent notified Limerick City and County Council last year, and the council later issued a statutory notice requiring the waste to be removed. Browne failed to appear before Limerick District Court last Friday, and Judge John King heard evidence in her absence before convicting her. The judge then issued a bench warrant so that she would attend a sentencing hearing, which had not yet taken place when this was reported on 10 October 2025.
