On 21 March 2021, Jason Buckley, 28, drove at Matthew Kenny, his ex-partner's new boyfriend, at Fairgreen, Saggart, Dublin, causing Kenny to be thrown into the air and sustaining a badly sprained left wrist, cuts, bruises and lacerations. Kenny was helping the ex-partner move house when he saw Buckley revving the engine, and got out of his brother's car holding a hurl before seeing Buckley driving at him. Buckley pleaded guilty to endangerment. On 9 May 2025, Judge Orla Crowe at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court sentenced Buckley to three years in prison, reducing a headline sentence of five years in light of mitigating factors including his guilty plea, family support and work history as a plumber.
