latest first- Alleged squatters ordered to vacate Stoneybatter property over trespass Trespass (unlawful occupation); breach of court order · Co. Dublin
In early September 2021, individuals broke into numbers 23-28 Prussia Street in Stoneybatter, Dublin, and changed the locks, with eight people later found occupying three camper vans and a shed on the site. The property, bought by Mary McGrath in 2003, had been the subject of a 2018 Dublin City Council High Court action over fire safety concerns. On 27 October, a standoff saw a bar stool thrown from the roof and Gardaí form a human barricade as about 60 people gathered outside the gate. On 24 November, the High Court ordered the alleged squatters to vacate the site immediately, and the matter was adjourned to the following week.
