A fatal two-car collision on the R166 at Lynns, Annagassan, Co Louth, on 14 July 2025 killed Arthur Daly, a man in his 60s. Martina Meehan, a woman aged 56, was arrested at Dundalk Garda Station on 18 December 2025 and charged with dangerous driving causing death. She appeared before Dundalk District Court, where the DPP directed trial on indictment and Judge Nicola Andrews remanded her on bail. The case was sent forward to Dundalk Circuit Court for trial on 12 January 2026.
