Martin Ward, a man from Cattan, Annaghmore, Mohill, Co Leitrim, was convicted at Longford District Court in April 2022 of holding a mobile phone while driving. It was his third conviction for the same offence, following fines of €100 in Athlone District Court in October 2014 and €200 in February 2015. Judge Bernadette Owens fined him €200 with four months to pay.

A violent brawl broke out at Tuam Cemetery on 22 September 2021 during the funeral of Teresa Ward, following a dispute between two families, leaving seven people injured with non-life-threatening injuries. A male youth was arrested at the scene in possession of a knife and later released. On 29 November 2021, eight people, seven men aged from their mid 20s to mid 50s and one woman in her mid 20s, were arrested in dawn raids and charged with assault and public order offences. The eight appeared before Tuam District Court, where David McDonagh was remanded in custody and the others were granted bail with conditions.
