  Three men armed with a screwdriver, knife, garden shears and meat cleaver entered O'Callaghan's Centra on Main Street, Ferbane, Co. Offaly, at approximately 6.40am on 15 November 2021, forcing two female staff members to hand over cigarettes, alcohol and a cash box containing €2,348 before locking them in the strong room. The men fled in a dark coloured vehicle, and three men aged 19, 20 and 26 were arrested in Galway the same day. Two men aged 26 and 19 were charged and appeared before Athlone District Court on 17 November 2021, while the 20-year-old remained in custody. In June 2026, Barney Casey, a 25-year-old man from Limerick who was the driver, pleaded guilty at Tullamore Circuit Court and was sentenced to five years in prison with one year suspended, while James Keenan received six years with one year suspended and Martin Keenan received five years with 18 months suspended.

  Patrick Stokes, a man in his 30s, was stabbed in the stomach at 9:30am on 10 October 2024 outside St Joseph's National School in Deanscurragh, Longford, during an incident of violent disorder linked to an ongoing feud. Four people were charged: John Keenan, 32, David Joyce, 29, Martin Keenan, 34, and Winnie Keenan, 29, with charges including violent disorder, production of an article, and assault. The case was adjourned several times at Longford District Court before being sent to Longford Circuit Court for trial on indictment in July 2025. John Keenan was sentenced to eight years and six months, with 18 months suspended for three years, at Longford Circuit Court in November 2025.

  On 23 January 2024, a car was reported abandoned in the middle of the road outside St Joseph's National School in Longford, obstructing traffic shortly after 3pm. A registration check listed Martin Keenan, a man, as the registered owner, and a fixed charge penalty fine issued to him went unpaid. Martin Keenan appeared in court, where the defence said there was no evidence the accused had been driving the vehicle. Judge Bernadette Owens convicted him and imposed a €100 fine, reported in December 2024.

• Four men sentenced for violent disorder at Longford Circuit Court Violent disorder · Co. Longford

  On 3 October 2021, four men attacked the home of Mary Nevin at 68 Grian Ard, Ardnacassa, Longford, shortly before 10.30pm, smashing a door and six windows with iron bars while she, her husband and five children were in bed. David Joyce (28), John Keenan (31), Michael 'Jnr' Ward (33) and Martin Keenan (34) pleaded guilty to violent disorder and putting a person in fear at Longford Circuit Court in November 2024. Mrs Nevin had tried to withdraw her complaint, but the DPP approved the prosecution, and the defendants did not explain why they carried out the attack. On 12 November 2024, the four men were sentenced to varying periods of up to 39 months in prison.
