  Martin Joseph 'Joe' Cullen, 64, who has an address in Colehill, Newtowncunningham, Co Donegal, was found guilty in July 2026 after a five-day trial of seven counts of sexual assault against five boys aged between 8 and 13. The assaults took place between 1993 and 2007, and he also pleaded guilty to a child exploitation charge for an offence dated between 2008 and 2010. He was brought before Judge Roderick Maguire at Letterkenny Circuit Court, and the sentence for each victim was directed to run consecutively. On 31 July 2026 he was jailed for 11 years, backdated to when he went into custody after the first trial in 2025.
