    Thomas Martens, 72, a former FBI agent, and his daughter Molly Martens, 39, are charged with second-degree murder in the 2015 death of businessman Jason Corbett in Davidson County, North Carolina. The pair are scheduled to go on trial for a second time starting June 26, 2023. In late 2022, defense attorneys filed a motion in Davidson Superior Court requesting the proceedings be moved out of Davidson County, alleging that Martens cannot obtain a fair and impartial trial.
