latest first- Man sentenced for arson at Limerick home Arson · Co. Limerick
On 15 April 2024, Marris Auzins, a 21-year-old man born in Latvia, petrol bombed a black Ford S-Max car registered to Anne Dundon, a woman in her early 40s, parked in the front driveway of the home of Wayne Dundon at Lenihan Avenue, Prospect, Limerick City. The car was written off in the fire, and nobody was hurt, though a mobile home occupied by Dundon's daughter and her one-year-old child was nearby. Gardaí on a nearby patrol saw the flames, chased both men, and arrested Auzins after tackling him to the ground, while the second man escaped. Auzins pleaded guilty to one count of arson at Limerick Circuit Criminal Court on 15 October 2024 and was sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
