    On January 29, 2023, gardaí at Maudlin Street, Kilkenny, found Marlena Da Souza, a 28-year-old woman from Talbot Place, Lakeside, Kilkenny, highly intoxicated, and she was arrested and charged with a public order offence. The court heard that she banged on the windows of a garda van, tried to climb onto its bonnet as it moved away, resisted arrest and kicked out at two gardaí. Kilkenny District Court convicted her of assaulting two gardaí, and she was fined €250 on each assault charge.
